ACADEMIC SUCCESS IS MEASURED WITH GOALS AND
METRICS, BUT THERE IS PROFOUND MEANING IN EVERY STEP IN EACH CHILD’S ACADEMIC GROWTH.
We take care to properly assess our students, divine their needs, and ensure they are properly equipped, motivated and engaged. Our students exceed national standards on standardized exams, and transistion effortlessly to the best college preparatory high schools in the Columbus area.
Star assessments are used to gauge our students’ skill levels, and students are challenged accordingly. Differentiation begins in Kindergarten, where children learn in reading centers. Students who need extra help can get assistance from our intervention staff, and middle-school students who master the core curricula can take high-school level classes, giving them a head start as they move up to high school.
Our graduates are well-prepared for the rigors of high school. Roughly two-thirds of Saint Andrew students are recognized as honor students by Bishop Watterson and Saint Charles preparatory schools.
Our K-8 Curriculum meets the standards set by the State of Ohio and the Diocese of Columbus. Our students’ standardized test scores are well above the national average. Core subjects for all students are enriched with weekly lessons in Art, Music, Spanish, Latin, Physical Education and Technology. All specials at Saint Andrew are thoughtfully planned and taught by certified specialists in the areas they teach.
Our classrooms are equipped with state-of-the-art Clevertouch screens that provide immersive learning experiences for our students. Students in all grades engage in weekly technology classes where they can work with 3-D printing and explore digital media. Personal Chromebooks are introduced in lower grades and assigned to students in grades 6-8.
Our modern teaching tools are balanced with time-honored methods. Our youngest students experience the joy of turning pages in our library stacked with over 1500 books divided into two age-appropriate rooms. We teach cursive writing in grades 2-4, and our middle schoolers take three years of Latin, which paves the way to success in high school.
